Enforced School Closure

Should the school need to close due to adverse weather conditions, heating failure etc we will notify parents and carers as follows:

For parents and carers whose details are held on our MCAS system we will automatically send an email or text to your registered email address/mobile phone notifying you of school closure.  If our Office does not hold your details on MCAS you will not receive a notification.  Please ensure that you keep your MCAS contact details up-to-date by notifying the school office of any changes (these can be made directly by you on the MCAS app). We will keep you up-to-date through further emails/texts, including if we are providing work for your children – which will depend on the situation we encounter. If so, this is likely to be accessed via either the class pages on our website or via Microsoft Teams. All pupils will be expected to engage with any learning that is set.

A message will be posted onto our website on the homepage telling you that the school is closed.

Should we find ourselves in a situation whereby school is needed to be shut early we will use the same procedure as detailed above.

For snow-related closures this difficult decision is not taken lightly, it is dependent upon whether our school staff are able to safely get to and from school and whether we are able to make the school site safe that day. We may opt to open the school later than usual, to allow us to make the school ready and safe for pupil, parent and staff arrival.
